Tired, aching legs can be the result of standing on your feet for long periods of time, and while rest and periodic sitting can (certainly) help alleviate the problem, wearing footwear that does not have stability or sufficient cushioning or arch support will absolutely aggravate the issue.

Did you know that we walk an average of 115,000 miles in our lifetime? With every mile we walk, we shift approximately one hundred tons (the weight of a blue whale), just to move our own body weight forward. Needless to say, your feet are kinda important – so it’s also kinda important to take care of them.

But for the ladies in the Women’s Leadership Circle of the United Way, the person who demands the most of them is themselves. These women won’t stop at good enough – they are not average, nor plain. life,
her only constant is change – the guiding light of the universe when blanketed in steeping darkness. Once a month she encourages us to create our own inner light, as she watches from within the night only to return the following evening to remind us she will always be there.

Even though running outdoors is great for fresh air and getting in touch with nature or … concrete jungles, a treadmill is a really cool tool to invest in. If you’re someone who can put one foot in front of the other, I highly recommend you consider the purchase. Two Thousand and Fourteen. For the next 30 days (okay the next 60..) we'll be crossing out that 3 and replacing it with a 4. We'll be looking back at how great/miserable/awesome/terrible/miraculous the last year was, and yes, it was all of those things wasn't it? But we'll also set ourselves up to make the next 12 months the best they've ever been. We have hopes for our loved ones, dreams for ourselves, and vacations that involve both parties :)

Suit jackets. CEO’s, VPs, and executives. Briefcases.
These all were in attendance at the 13th annual United Way Miami’s Women’s Leadership Breakfast. There were also some killer heels walking the floors, amazing speeches, and even more incredible female leaders of the community. Keynoting the event was Leigh Anne Tuohy, the real matriarch behind the 2009 film “The Blind Side” of which Sandra Bullockwon an Oscar for Tuohy’s portrayal.
